#39 World Usability Congress, OMG what a BORING event
In the end, it was just a boring event where I shared my equally boring story about UX research and how we could totally not grow our careers.
➡️ Hannes Robier, our organizer, was cold and detached. He made no effort to make us feel welcome.
➡️ Participants? Completely disinterested. Not a single relevant question came up.
➡️ The speakers were not international. It seemed like they all came from the same small town, and none of them were prepared.
➡️ I learned that building a community doesn’t matter. Asking tough questions and sharing experiences? Nope, those didn’t matter either. And, of course, sharing a laugh was out of the question.
Don’t bother attending next year.

Ah, what a bummer! You should totally schedule this in your calendar next year and then be so glad when you get to do something much better with your time and money.
